End of January

Well this month flew by way too quickly. It seems like Caroline's first birthday is coming much faster than I'd like. We've had a good month though. We were home for several days when my mom had cataract surgery. Her surgery was OK but we think it was unsuccessful and they're going to have to re-do the same eye. Her vision is still blurry and it should be clear by now. She's really mad about it, and I can't say that I blame her. But it was nice to have a reason to be home for a little while. It will be almost 2 months before we get to go back to Clinton. We're about to start traveling with Attache' for their competitions. Robert is playing with the pit this season, so he has to be at all of them. Caroline and I are going to all but Los Angeles. So it should be a fun season.
Caroline is doing so many things so quickly. She is getting really good at the copy cat game. She'll imitate faces we make and tries to repeat sounds we make. It's really cute. Her self-feeding skills are improving too. She looks so big every time she does it! She's getting much more consistent with waving good-bye and always gives kisses when you ask for them. She is super sweet in the morning when we first wake up. We lay in the bed together and play "Tickle Monster" and "Paci Monster," which consists of my wiggling fingers "attacking" her with tickles or stealing her paci. She loves both games and giggles the whole time. Then she'll stop and roll over to give me hugs or kisses. It's my favorite time of the whole day and makes me truly grateful to be staying home with her. She's gotten really good at cleaning off table tops and LOVES to dump out Lucy's water bowl. And despite all of her many toys, her favorite thing to do is empty out her diaper basket that we keep in the den for diaper changes. My favorite improvement is that she's finally learned to follow me into another room. She used to just cry for me when I left the room, even though she knew how to crawl. Now she'll come find me if I walk away or just go find something else to do. NICE! So that's all we know for now. Check out new pictures on Shutterfly!
