So I'm sorry I'm such a crappy blogger these days. I never finished my Thanksgiving thankful days..... Let's just say I'm thankful for lots of things, too many to count. But I'm especially thankful today for the fact that we're getting to take Caroline to Disney World for a whole week. While it took a lot of planning ahead for Christmas, it's all wrapped and ready to go. She is the most excited child I've ever seen and I can NOT wait to see her face when we arrive. Last time we went she was 3 months old and we took the whole fam-damily. She didn't know the world was turning, but the other kids were so cute and the awe on their faces was pricesless. It brought tears to my eyes, and they're not even my kids. I can't even imagine how watching her reaction to everything is going to be. I'm excited about the trip, but mostly excited to see such amazement and happiness on her little face. Best Christmas present ever. So we're all packed and ready to go (mostly) and we're driving through the night tonight. I can't imagine driving 12 hours with an alert child and hearing "how much loooonngggeeeerrrr????" 1,247 times. Much better to sleep most of the way and avoid the burden of anticipation. I'm sure I'll have lots of cuteness to report after our trip and I'll probably post some pics along the way on Facebook. So that's all we can think about at our house right now.
On a different note, I'm trying to stay focused on all the good and happiness this year. My sweet Papaw died on Christmas Eve last year, so that's definitely going to be a hard day for my whole family. Some days it's hard not to be sad and wish he was here. I just try to stay focused on good memories and making the most of our time with Mamaw. Because whether we want to admit it or not, those times are running out. And then I get sad about that..... sheesh. And then you add Robert's grandparents to the mix, and I'm a big ball of tears some days. SOOOOOO, for now I'll just focus on Disney and the joy on her face, and be glad that my Papaw, and Nanny and Papaw get to see it too.....
