Loyalty. It's not that hard.......
My generation of people really just kinda sucks sometimes. Not all of us, of course. But a lot of us. Somehow, we've been led to believe that everything in life is supposed to be easy and super-fun all the time, and never supposed to require commitment or hard work or effort. We think everything should just be exactly like we want it all the time. And by itself, that's not such an awful thing - it's what happens when it DOESN'T happen that way that bothers me. When things aren't happening the way we want them to, or maybe it's just not as great as it used to be, we don't attempt to fix the problem or help the situation. We simply take our ball and go play somewhere else. We tuck tail and run the other way. And I'm so tired of it. Lack of loyalty truly irritates me. And maybe I'm an extremist when it comes to loyalty. But being loyal to something that has been a big part of your life is just important to me, and if putting forth a little effort in order to maintain that loyalty is required, then dangit, DO IT. And I wish my generation felt the same way. This applies to so many things, too. Even the fickle, silly stuff (stores, products, sports teams, services) is just a precursor to the major things (schools, churches, and relationships). Stop whining and being unhappy unless you've tried with all of your might and put every last ditch effort into it and it STILL isn't getting better and meeting your expectations. I don't expect people to be stupid and stick with something that truly isn't good for them anymore. And I'm not naive to think that that doesn't happen to some people. I've seen my share of relationships and situations that NEEDED to come to an end. But usually it's the slightest discomfort and they're out. No forgiveness, no second chances. I just don't get it. It's pretty simple. Be loyal. That's all.

AMEN sister. My thoughts exactly as of late. Honor your commitments.
I'm glad I'm not alone!
