7 Months Old

Well sorry it's been a while since our last post. We've been pretty busy lately. Caroline has done a few more "firsts" in the past month. She drinks from a sippie cup sometimes, loves biter biscuits, and has decided that sleeping with Mommy in the guest room is way better than sleeping alone in her own bed. She had an ear infection and when we went back to the doctor to make sure it was gone, it wasn't... So now she's on stronger medicine and has ear drops to hopefully kick it out for good. We go back next week for another check up. But the ear problem is what started the waking up in the middle of the night. Now that we have the ears under control I'm not sure what keeps waking her up - other than simply wanting to sleep with me. So some nights I give in and some nights I don't, it just depends on how exhausted I am. As long as she'll sleep, I don't care. She won't sleep with me forever.
We decided to put our Christmas tree up early this year. I know it sounds weird, but it's such a hassle getting all that stuff out of the attic - last year we didn't even put one up. If we wait until after Thanksgiving, there's only 2 more weeks before we're out of school for Christmas. Then we go home to Clinton for the whole break. What's the point in putting up a tree for 2 weeks?! So we put it up a few days ago so we can enjoy it longer than usual. Caroline thinks it's great! She had fun looking at all the ornaments and lights. There's some cute pictures of it on Shutterfly.
Still no crawling yet, but she's getting on all fours and rocking back and forth. Then she flops out onto her belly and cries. She still hates being on her stomach. We also still don't have any teeth. She's chewing everything she gets her hands on and drools like a faucet, so I guess that'll happen soon enough.
She's still a happy little baby most of the time. She likes to play with Lucy and loves to watch the kiddie shows on PBS. She thinks that Elmo is hilarious and loves to snuggle with my stuffed Elmo that I had when I was little. Her favorite toys these days are the stacking rings and my old cell phone - go figure. Recently she's decided that she doesn't like for me to take a shower. She used to sit and play while I showered and now she bursts into tears as soon as I close the door- even though it's see-through! If I open the door and she can see me clearly, she's fine. But that doesn't quite work very well. So now I have to wait until Robert is home or she's asleep. She loves to ride in the cart at Wal-Mart and has decided that being tickled is GREAT. Now she cackles every time instead of crying. She's eating baby food more often and opens her mouth for the spoon like a little bird. Her favorite part of the day is bath time - she loves to splash! That's pretty much all we do these days - eat, nap, play, bathe, and go to Wal-Mart. Check out Shutterfly - there's 2 new albums with cute pics!
