Well our first Thanksgiving with Caroline was great. The whole family gathered at my mom and dad's house for lunch and Caroline had baby food turkey for the first and last time - nasty! But she had some sweet potatoes too so that made up for the nasty pureed meat. There's a funny picture of it on shutterfly. We had a good time visiting with everyone. Then we had dinner at Robert's mom's house. His brother was home from Chicago, so it was great to get to see him. Then Robert left the next morning for Drum Corp camp in Ohio. He's going to be working with the Glassmen this summer, so he's going to the camps to audition the kids on trumpet. He's enjoying all that so far. Caroline and I fared the malls the day after Thanksgiving and had a great time shopping. It's great to get shopping done early and out of the way.
This past weekend we made a quick trip home for the Attache Fall Revue. They did a great job! But it was even better to get to see Dave and Mary and some other friends that we don't get to see often enough. Caroline and I will be heading back this Thursday for my dad's 4th ankle surgery. Hopefully this will be the last. We also have Hannah's birthday party Friday night, so that will be fun.
Tomorrow we have to go back to the doctor for her last check-up for her ear. Hopefully the infection is gone and we can stop all the worrying. But if it's not we're going to have to visit the ENT to see about getting tubes put in her ears. Joy. So everyone say a prayer that we don't have to do that. Then next Monday we're going to the pediatric eye doctor to see about her eyes being crooked. Sometimes in pictures her left eye turns in a little bit and we're just going to make sure it's not something that's a problem in the future. He'll do more extensive measurements and exams than our pediatrician can do. Hopefully he'll just say she'll grow out of it. So we'll see....
She just turned 8 months old today. She's still not crawling but she's made some progress this past week. She can go from her knees back to a sitting position and she's scooting more. She's talking more and more every day. She got a big girl car seat and likes it much better than the infant seat. It sits up more so she can see better. Which is great for me on solo car trips. Christmas will be here before we know it. I know she's going to love all the excitement and wrapping paper. We'll definitely have a lot of pictures to share after that. But check out shutterfly for some of the most recent pictures!
