Party Time!
Well we had our annual Halloween party this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and Caroline was adorable. Mary made her costume for her (and both of ours, too) and she's a bumble bee. Robert was Prince and I was a 70's Go-go girl. Of course, Caroline didn't last but about 30 minutes in her costume and was quite ready to come out of it. So she wore her Halloween onesie for the rest of the night. She's still doing new things every day. She's learned how to undo her diaper. She still isn't crawling, but she hates being on her stomach. So who knows when that will happen. She doesn't say "da-da" anymore. Now she sticks out her tongue and says "la-la." But still no "ma-ma." She also started making this hilarious face where she scrunches up her lips into a pucker and scrunches her nose. Then she breathes in and out really loud. It's so funny! No teeth yet, but definitely gumming everything she can get her hands on. She's also decided that after about 6:00 in the evening, she doesn't want me to put her down. And all I have to say is: crap. That makes dinner a little bit of a challenge, but our battles are definitely better than some others we could have. I'm starting an exercise class this week that meets 2 nights a week. Hopefully that will help her learn to how to be away from me for a little while. She's still really easy-going and loves to go places. She's doing better in the car and has decided that her car seat is the perfect spot to remove her shoes and socks. I'm pretty sure she thinks I put them on her strictly for her entertainment. And she's partially correct - it's definitely useful in a pinch. She still loves to sing and dance around the house, especially if Robert's playing the piano. Today was a beautiful day here so we took her to the duck pond down by the bay and took lots of great pictures of her. She got to see real ducks and she loved them! Be sure to check out Shutterfly. Look in the Halloween Party '08 album for her costume pictures. The rest are in "End of October."
