Well let's start with the most important thing that happened this week - my best friend Leslie's older sister, Jaime, had brain surgery Wed. morning and everything turned out great. She came through the surgery just as expected and is recovering quite well. They removed the benign tumor and didn't even have to shave any of her hair off! How cool is that? Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to heal. You can check out the details and her progress at her Caring Bridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jaimemills . The only good part about the situation is that I got to see Leslie for the first time in over 2 years, and she got to meet Caroline for the first time. It was really great to see her and her family. I'm so glad she was able to meet Caroline before she was a year old!
The other great thing that happened this week was also on Wednesday. Caroline and I went to Poplarville Wednesday morning for - get this- a divorce. Sounds weird, huh? But it was a great day in our family. My cousin, Kaye, finally got rid of her controlling, egotistical, *sshole, sorry excuse for a husband that she put up with for 25 years for the sake of her children. She's such a wonderful person and she deserves to be happy. And now she can be! I was so glad I was able to be there for such a great day in her life. I know it sounds crazy to be happy for divorce, but trust me - if this man had been in your family, you'd be happy too!
So after the divorce (and a little celebration) we headed on to Clinton. We spent Thursday helping Lyda Sue get ready for a dinner she was having at her house. We went grocery shopping and cleaned the house a little. She took off work Friday just to hang out with us. So we visited Leslie Friday morning and then went shopping. Friday night was the football game so we got to see all of my family. We also got to see a few people who hadn't seen Caroline yet, which was nice. Then Saturday morning we got up and headed back down south to Perkinston for the competition that Robert's band was in at MS Gulf Coast Comm. College. They did another great job (all 1's and 2nd place overall!). So we've spent a lot of time in the car over the past few days. I think Caroline might burst into tears if she even looks at her car seat any time soon. We're definitely going to take a break for a while. There are some really cute new pictures on Shutterfly so check them out when you get a chance!
