Nine Month Checkup

Well we went to the doctor Wednesday for Caroline's 9 month check-up. She weighs 17 lbs. 1 oz. (20th percentile) and is 27 1/2 inches long (50th percentile). She had to get one shot and a finger prick. Then the doctor checked her ears again, and unfortunately, she has another ear infection. So now we have to go see the ENT to discuss the possibility of getting tubes in her ears. One the one hand, it makes me really nervous b/c of having to put her to sleep. But on the other hand, it is such a common procedure that I'm sure it will be fine. So we're taking another antibiotic to keep it from getting worse until we can get to the ENT. So say a prayer that all of this gets handled quickly. She's not sleeping well at all because the fluid builds up when she lays down, so we're pretty tired around here. But on a good note, the doctor said she could start eating finger foods like Cheerios, Gerber puffs, peas, etc. So we went and got some Gerber puffs and Yogurt puffs - she loves them! She's so cute picking them up with her tiny fingers. She is pretty good at getting them in her mouth, but sometimes she gets frustrated and needs help. There are some cute pictures of it on Shutterfly. She is also loving her new "playroom." I can actually leave her for a few minutes and she occupies herself. It's great! I finally get to use the bathroom alone again - well, sometimes....
