Robert scored major brownie points today. So you know how I hate my office space? Well he fixed it, as much as it could be fixed. He moved some things around so that the playroom space and office space are more broken up, so it feels like 2 rooms instead of one huge open space. It helps Caroline have a visual of where toys are supposed to stay. The couch and the piano now serve as a semi-wall between the two spaces. He also got rid of the "old" desktop computer, ugly plastic drawers, and piles of random crap in the corners. (Sorry, Daddy, but crap is better than what I really wanted to say....) Then he organized all the clutter into a storage cabinet with doors so now all the crap is nicely hidden. THEN, he cleaned off the original computer desk so it now holds just my little laptop and my favorite pen holder, instead of being the "catch-all" for randomness. So I'm super happy about my new space. It's way less cluttered and that makes me happiest of all. Soon enough the playroom will be de-cluttered once Caroline's room gets settled. We got her a new bed for her upcoming birthday, and it should be here in a few days. It's a loft bed with stairs, so she has more floor space and room for her toys. We're having her carpet cleaned and probably painting a wall. Once that's done, I can't wait to get some of this stuff out of the playroom and get her things a little more organized. Can you tell that organization is the key to my happiness?? Yes, it is. My OCD brain gets nice and calm when everything is in its place.
So here's another bit of info about me that you may not know. I am a complete and total school supply junkie. I absolutely love office/school supplies. I could walk around Office Depot for hours, and want to purchase most of what I see. I think it's part of the reason I wanted to be a teacher. I think I'd be an excellent office manager for someone. Freshly sharpened pencils. Stacks of construction paper. File folders and labels. Desktop organizers. Sharpies. Oh, how I love Sharpies. And my ultimate favorite - a brand new box of crayons. Absolute. Perfection. Yes...... I know..... Don't judge. :-D
