Caroline is Here!

Baby Caroline is finally here! She was born on Monday, April 7th, 2008 at 5:17 pm. Her full name is Caroline Elizabeth Allen. She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Our Ob-Gyn, Dr. Angela McCool, "caught" her at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. We came home Wednesday, April 9th after Mommy and Caroline were cleared by the nursery and doctors.

Layne was originally scheduled to be induced on Wednesday morning to make sure all our family could be there. Monday morning around 11:00 Layne felt a few pains and decided to go into the doctor's office to get it checked out. The doctor said she was already in labor and we were going to have a baby. We called all our parents and everyone dropped what they were doing to drive the 4 hours to Fairhope. Luckily, everyone made it just in time for Caroline to "pop" out at 5:17 pm. Wow! Just 6 hours for the first baby....that's record time.
