Bad Weather

I'm a terrible "bad weather" person because it doesn't scare me at all. Not even a little bit. I don't run to the hallway or dive in the bathtub at the sound of the siren. Maybe I should, and maybe it's because I've never really been in bad weather that caused me any direct harm. We had a tree down in our yard from Katrina, but that's as far as it got. No big deal. So why don't I get all scared like everyone else? Maybe it's all the false alarms that Clinton has. Our sirens go off at the drop of a hat, and nothing ever happens. It always goes around or misses us somehow. Except today. Today it hit pretty hard in the Highway 80 area near Wal Mart and Eastside school. My friend saw the tornado actually coming down the road beside her family's store. My dad went to pick up my niece after it was over at Eastside. He said that the damage missed the school by about 40 yards.... wow. A whole school full of children and the tornado causes damage on both sides of the school and to the houses directly across the street? And only a little awning damage is done to the school? Coincidence? I think not. That's a God thing, plain and simple. So since this bad weather has actually had an affect on me and the people around me, maybe I'll be a little more cautious next time the sirens go off. I'm probably not getting in the bathtub, but I might get in the hallway. :-)
